CONTROVERSY-LESS WIN FOR GLANMIRE GAA

Not even the rain could mask the joy on the faces of these young footballers as they beat Douglas 0-13 to 1-9 (or the equivalent of 12 points compared to Glanmire’s already stated 13 points, for anyone new to the game) last night (according to the Echo).

Due to social distancing, we at GNA, like everyone else, did not attend the match, but remained in our homes in Glanmire instead, presumably listening to the commentary on the radio.

And what a sound it was when (find out name of player before publishing, probably Murphy or something) kicked his free kick over the bar, but, crucially, also between the two other bars, and the crowd erupted in celebration in the dying minutes of the game, jumping for joy with tears in their eyes and each other in their arms.

A win richly deserved and celebrated like nothing else matters.
