WEST CORK MAN UP FOR EMMY

West Cork local and certified handsome man, Jeremy Irons (72), is nominated for a Primetime Emmy award tonight for Lead Actor in a Limited Series / Movie. His role as a character in the Watchmen series has garnered quite a bit of attention around Glanmire (and the world) particularly with comic book nerds who have told GNA that Watchmen is in fact based on the film Watchmen, which is in turn based on the comic book novel Watchmen, based on the thoughts of its author Alan Moore.

Handsome West Cork man Jeremy Irons (72) is nominated for an Emmy

Mr Irons faces stiff competition from another Irish actor, Paul Mescal from the “almost pornography” series “Normal People”, and other actors in the same category. In a break from tradition, the awards will take place using the internet so that nominees can avoid catching / receiving coronavirus to / from each other. Instead they will be at their respective castles with a man (or woman) outside their front door with an Emmy award in hand, ready to give it to them if they win and ready to get back in a taxi and head for the airport with the award if they lose.

People in Glanmire can watch the Emmys live on RTE tonight if they are showing it.

We at Glanmire News Area would like to wish Jeremy all the best now with the awards tonight.

This article was written in advance of the Brits claiming Jeremy Irons (72) is one of theirs if he wins. The bastards.
